How Long Has It Been???

How long has it been since I posted on here? It's actually been since March, so...7 months! I love blogging; I just really, really suck at being consistent.

So, I can write yucky feelings here, right? Yeah, I thought so. Do you ever feel like YOU are being pushed out of your life? Me too (assuming you said "yes")! I am the picker-upper of the socks that everyone leaves laying around, and the washer of the dirty clothing that the wee ones and husband drop to the floor when they are done with it. I am that person who gets asked, "Where are the clean towels?!?!...Did you wash my uniforms?" I am the one who starts the car and buckles the 3 year old and makes the order of awful food at McDonald's on the way to a baseball game and the one who receives the "Mrs. Aliff, we need you to come pick up your son." calls. I am the one who drags kids through their Math Projects kicking and screaming until they are finished and perfect and the one searching back through her mind as to where Patrick left that ball glove this time. All these things and more, my life is filled with monotonous, seemingly meaningless, definitely thankless tasks.

I do feel like I am being pushed out of my life! I signed up for this, I know, but dang!!! Who knew?!?! Well, I will catch up on my weekly posts of pictures on here. I most certainly did take pictures every week from February til now. I just have not had time to post them. Here is my vow to squeeze ME back into my hectic life. Blogspot, you will be hearing from me more often than once in 7 months. Thanks for listening (or reading), blog friends and followers.

February 15-21, 2010

Here they are from February 15-21. I was a little daisy obsessed that week! The silhouettes are in the bushes in front of our house, as is the flag (our neighbor's). There is Brody, my Tiny Whiney, eating a bagel. I just thought he looked angelic there in the ambient light. Of course, I cannot forgot Patrick's beloved fish. It seems my shutter went non-stop during this week, and I like it that way!!!

February 8-14, 2010

Here are a few pictures from the week of Valentine's Day! The roses, David got me for Valentine's Day, and the daisies I bought to do a picture for my "best, good friend" Casey for her birthday. The books are a passion of mine. I LOVE to read, and I LOVE books!

Oops, I forgot this one...

Vice...

52 Weeks...

I have decided to do a 52-week project instead of 365 days. The # of pics a week will vary.

February 1-7, 2010

Here is a drop picture that did not get posted with the rest, my kids running home off of the bus, a tree with ivy in our front yard, and my Tiny Whiney painting with his left and right hands. I hope you enjoy this as much as I am going to!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Here I am, yall! I am sorry I have not posted lately. I will be posting within the next week, but we have been so busy lately. The kids are doing "Math Projects" for school, which means Mumsy and Dadsy are very busy helping. It is one of those projects that make you wonder why the teachers assign YOU so much homework! All three of them have to make a Geometry Collage, two examples of each of this, three examples of that. They are pretty extensive, even Maverick's. The kids can cut pictures out of a magazine or newspaper, draw the pictures, or take them with a camera. You can guess what we are doing...yep, taking photos! Some of them are really interesting. As much of a pain in the butt as it is, this is my favorite project ever!!! I love Mathematics, and I love photography, so, yay for me!

I was sick with a cold twice in the last month. I am much better now than I was over the weekend. I have pictures galore that need finished up, but I just can not seem to squeeze it in lately between homework (the kids'), cooking, laundry, cleaning, oh, and my diet (shh). We shall see how that is panning out today, because Jill is bringing her scale when she brings Marianna. I do not have one, as not to get tempted by it then discouraged. I was not going to share that with everyone, but I cannot keep my own secrets to save my soul! I do fine with everyone else's secrets, just not my own.

Well, this will conclude the update on my life right now. I have decided not to do a 365 project, but rather a 52 project. I do not generally go a week without picking up my camera, but there are days that I do not "shoot" anything. Those are usually the days that I am digging out of Mount WhoWoreAllOfTheseClothesAndWhen or climbing the Leaning Tower of WhyCanYouNotUseTheSameCupAllDay! I will be posting my 52-week project this week, starting back in February to date.

Thank you for your patience, my few but loyal readers.

A Little Winter Play

Marianna is my friend Jill's wee-est one (of 5). She is a month older than Brody (who is 2 and a half). I watch her a few days every other week, and I decided to take her and Brody out to play and hopefully get some good shots. I drug the old suitcases out and some hats and let them play their hearts out. I am posting some of my favorites, but you know I am indecisive, so my favorites are many.

Here is Brody walking down our walk. I love these, and I cannot explain why.

I cropped this one. I like it both ways.

This is my favorite close up of Brody. I love when this kid smiles, and for pictures, that is rare for him.

Here is the face that I get more often when I am behind the camera, also the face that strangers get when they attempt to communicate with Brody!

Here are a couple of ones in sepia. I think the tones go with the suitcases and hats...

Here is one with a "texture," a new technique that I am slowly learning on Photoshop.

By this point, he is over it!!!

Introducing Marianna, one of the cutest kids! She has so many faces. She's hilarious! I added a tint to these. I like it, because I think she looks like a hippy in these, and the tint looks a little vintage.

These are black and white. She has so much personality. We have sweet, ornery, bossy, dramatic, and I could go on.

I love this little flapper photo. She is running around, it has motion blur, and I LOVE it!

Water, water, water!!!

I have been infatuated with water for a couple of days. Here are several pictures, but they are only a drop in the bucket of the ones that I took (no pun intended).

These are drops that I managed to catch.

These are melting snow dripping off of Carolina Pine needles (roof-top).

And, last but not least, this is my "best good friend" Casey's fave. The color version is above, but she likes the black and white best. I have to say that it warmed my heart when she said that this was her favorite because "it is like you can see the whole world in that little drop." I love ya, Case!
